She tested Ubiz Cabs the 100% female taxi in Kinshasa

Having a deep passion for my African continent and going back and forth, I am always looking for solutions and plans that can make my life easier or help my loves ones. I was surfing on the internet when I came across a two minutes video on Canal +, a francophone TV channel, that was reporting on a high-end and 100% female taxis. The idea looked absolutely brilliant since on the African continent, safety can be a big issue for women coming home late at night or in the very early morning. It is my personal opinion. African women, if they do not have their personal driver and car, are major users of taxis to go to work, do their shopping or even hang out with friends. Even when they own a car, they may choose from time to time to take a taxi.

In my home country, Togo, motorcycle taxis and car taxis are the most widespread transportation means for the population. Also the video caught my attention because I have been following for years on social media the African lady who is behind that 100% female taxi concept. I saw parts of the process on Instagram when she was creating her new taxi company. I just didn’t know that the project was already fully launched in Kinshasa (DRC).  As I haven’t had yet the opportunity to test Ubiz Cabs, I wanted to interview a consumer so that she could give us a complete and transparent review on these new taxis. Mrs Taofika is a regular user of Ubiz Cabs and here are the questions she accepted to answer:

o   How did you hear about Ubiz Cabs?

I first heard about Ubiz Cabs at the Senegalese airport when I met with Mme Patricia for the first time. I was on my way to visit my husband in Kinshasa in Dec 2017. I was very pleased with the idea of moving easily and freely around in Kinshasa with no security concerns.

o   Why did you choose Ubiz Cabs over the traditional yellow taxis in Kinshasa ?

As I mentioned it above, the security really matters in Kinshasa. So, moving around in Ubiz Cabs provides me a good feeling of safety. Plus, the level of comfort in those cabs make you feel like being in your own car. The cabs come with accessories such as Wifi, tablets, snacks and drinks.

o   In terms of safety, what are the advantages of Ubiz cabs ?

I heard about kidnapping with the yellow cabs, and just like Uber, Ubiz Cabs have a GPS system.The payment can be cashless. Ubiz cabs are convenient over yellow taxis in term of safety, payment, the degree of comfort and timing.

o   Is the application available on Google store and Apple store ?
